Configure Firefox – without Addon

  1. Open FF
  2. Go to Edit-> Prefrences -> Advanced (tab) -> Network (tab below) -> Connection Settings -> select Manual Proxy Configuration -> SOCKS Host: proxy.totallynoob.com -> Port: 1080
  3. select SOCKS v5
  4. Press OK.
  5. Close preferences window.
  6. [!IMPORTANT!] open new tab and write to the address bar “about:config” (and say to FF that you’re a good boy)
  7. [!IMPORTANT!] find “network.proxy.socks_remote_dns=FALSE” and set it to TRUE

 

Configure Firefox – with Addon

  1. Open FF
  2. Install addon named “proxy selector”
  3. Go to Tools->Proxy Selector-> Manage Proxies->Add
  4. give it a name “myProxy”
  5. hostname for SOCKs = proxy.totallynoob.com
  6. port for SOCKs = 1080
  7. open new tab and write to the address bar “about:config” (and say to FF that you’re a good boy)
  8. find “network.proxy.socks_remote_dns=FALSE” and set it to TRUE
